One thing that I am incredibly thankful for is the fact that all of my friends are so creative and talented. I'm constantly surrounded by filmmakers, photographers, musicians, and actors. (What a blow to my ego! Haha!) Last semester, my friend, Lindsey, invited myself and our mutual friend, Michelle, to model in a...
Halloween this year seemed to roll around very quickly! While I'm normally very prepared when it comes to costumes, (I made my Poison Ivy costume last year leaf by leaf!), this year, I just wasn't ready! When Halloween night came around, I was in a panic! I had a party to go to...
With our busy schedules, Eric and I have been struggling to find a time to squeeze in some fall activities. But with a small window of time this past weekend, we finally managed! Friday night was spent at a haunted maze with Eric's mom, stepdad, and sister. Though I am normally against all things scary, I bit the...
For the longest time, I've wanted a pet of my own. My family has two dogs and a cat, but since I no longer live with them, my need for a fluffy companion has greatly increased. Enter my friend Alli. Her cat, June, had kittens about two months ago and guess who got to take one home a couple of days ago?! ...
Today whilst bored, I decided to do a mini photo shoot with myself. And since I am still bored, I thought I'd share the results here. ...
Everyone knows that New Zealand girl with the wildly curly hair and the purple lipstick, but did you know that she’s only 17? Or that she is curating an entire motion picture soundtrack?! In September of 2013, Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, better known as Lorde, released her first studio album, Pure Heroine, which quickly rose on the...
When Autumn first arrives, most people are excited to pull out their sweaters and knee-high boots. (Admittedly, I enjoy this part of the season too.) However, what I look forward to most is converting my home from bright and cool to warm and cozy. I find that this is pretty simple to achieve with just a few, small, changes. Candles In my...
One of my favorite annual fall events is the University of Pittsburgh's Fall Fest! The Pitt Program Council hires an artist every year to come and perform for its students! They shut down the street and a stage is built overnight. Even though I don't attend school there, I always make sure I...
We all know (and love) (and geek out over) Mean Girls and because today is October 3rd and 2014 marks ten years since the movie first came out, (yay/I feel old!), I figured it was appropriate to just word vomit my love all over your screens. It's hard to describe how many emotions this movie brings out in me. (THE LIMIT DOES NOT EXIST!) And I can't even tell you how I felt when after only a week of dating, my boyfriend walked in and said, "Okay, so can we please just watch Mean Girls?" (His hair is short, but if it was longer, it would totally look sexy pushed back.) I think this movie is so fetch, but for the purpose of this post, I'm limiting my obsession to my five favorite things/most quotable moments (in no particular order).
- "You can go shave your back now." Is it bad that I use this on a daily basis?! I'm not mean, I swear!
- "Whatever, I'm getting cheese fries." EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that I try to be healthy. I can't do it even though I do wanna lose three pounds.
- "She doesn't even go here!" This one has to be my favorite. Since I no longer attend the same University as most of my friends, (I transferred), this quote gets thrown in my face constantly. And I even use it in reference to myself.
- "Grool." Because who hasn't accidentally said this at some point?
- "BECAUSE THAT VEST WAS DISGUSTING." Used as a comeback in any and all arguments I get into.
Oh, and did I mention that I met Regina Geor- erm..Rachel McAdams a few weeks ago? She is THE SWEETEST human being on the planet and complimented me on the book I was reading. (Too cool!)
If you're like me, the thought of horror movies makes you want to collapse into a trembling mess under a killer-proof pile of warm blankets. (Three years ago, my mom bought The Exorcism of Emily Rose and I hid it in the house so that I wouldn't have to walk in on anybody watching it and accidentally see...
I'm so excited to announce that my first published piece of writing is up on Maniac Magazine's blog! Okay...so it's more of a list than anything, but we all have to start somewhere, right?! I'm actually very proud of it, because it was the first step I've taken towards deciding what I want...
I am constantly reminded by museum visitors how cool my job is, so I thought I'd share a little bit about it with you guys! I work as a gallery attendant at The Andy Warhol Museum here in Pittsburgh, which basically means that I tell people not to touch the art or take photographs! (haha, but actually...) I also...
This past June, I got to see one of the best bands around right now...BASTILLE! I attended the show at Pittsburgh's Stage AE with my friends Alli, Laura, and Julie. (It was my first outdoor show at this venue.) I think the sun hated us that day because it beat down unbearably and made us sweat and took...
Today, I re-designed my dresser top. I decided to go with the theme "Sugar and Spice" and mix a little pop with a little rock and roll. I think I love it! xx ...
I realized today that I haven't formally introduced myself to the blogosphere, so here is just a quick list of some of my favorite things! Color: When it comes to clothing, I'm all about black. (All black errrthang). But as far as home decor and just visuals in general, I'm a big fan of teal and mint. Book: My all-time favorite book...
Just a quick note to announce that I will be starting to blog for Maniac Magazine in the next week and I couldn't be more excited about this! xx ...
